Light
Even from the beginning moments of creation God made a point to include the separation of light and dark. Why? What do light and dark represent?
Light can mean clarity, reassurance, revelation, hope, glory, courage, the Word, Jesus, holiness, testimony, goodness, truth, purity, relentlessness, and power.
If darkness is the opposite of light, then we can draw the conclusion that words that represent light have antonyms that represent darkness.
Darkness can mean confusion, doubt, ignorance, hopelessness, fear, the world, evil, sin, bad, lies, and shame.
When we have these things in our lives, we have darkness. That doesn’t mean that we are completely dark, it just means we have areas in our lives that need to be lit. How does that happen?
Remember: We need to remember who Christ is and what He did on the cross.
Recognize: We need to recognize where the darkness is. What in our hearts isn’t synonymous with light?
Reposition: We can be repositioned, through surrender to God’s grace and forgiveness, back under his Lamp.
So that brings us to the question.... Are we living our lives in the light?
If there are actions in our past or present that keep us walking in darkness, we need to BE BOLD and step into the light. We can expose our sin to a God who loved us so much He sent His “one and only Son” to give us eternal life (John 3:16). “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.” (1 John 1:9)
We need to fall at the feet of this loving God and confess the sin that weighs heavy on us. God will take that weight off our shoulders and unchain us from our sin. Let’s walk in the freedom of the cross... Let’s walk in the light!
“But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” (John 3:21)
